OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi add smartphones to Google’s ARCore certification list
ARCore is a software development kit developed by Google with the aim of providing devices running Android with an environment entirely dedicated to augmented reality applications. After the successful launch of the first version of ARCore in February 2018, the SDK has come on its way.
It has convinced many smartphone manufacturers who have done everything possible to obtain the necessary certifications to make some of their devices compatible with ARCore. This is the case of OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi who have recently seen some of their smartphones added to the official list of ARCore certification by Google. By the way, there are now forty new devices that now benefit from the certification.
The new OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi devices compatible with ARCore
For the time being, Google refuses to let its ARCore software development kit be available to all manufacturers. Those who want to offer this environment dedicated to augmented reality applications to their devices must take the necessary steps to have them certified.
And to achieve this, the device in question must meet a number of conditions set by Google. They mainly concern the quality of the camera and the precision of the motion sensor. As of July 20, 2022, new devices from OnePlus, Motorola, and Xiaomi have met Google’s requirements. This allowed them to officially enter the Google list. It is :
OnePlus : 10 Pro 5G; 10R 5G; North CE 2; North CE 2 Lite
