State of emergency declared in New York State over spread of monkeypox
On Friday July 29, the New York State Governor Kathy Hochulannounced the start of the state of emergency in front of the increase in the number of cases of monkeypox. She explained that this state of emergency would be in effect until August 28.
In a post on Twitter, Hochul indicated that this executive order will allow managers to react more quickly to the situation. Health professionals will also be able to take additional measures to be able to vaccinate more residents.

According to the executive order announced by the Governor, 1,383 cases monkeypox were reported as of July 29, 2022 in New York State. Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus to be a global health emergency. According to the CDC, there are currently 22,485 confirmed cases worldwide. Of these cases, 22,141 were reported in countries that do not usually record cases of monkeypox.
